In The Studio

Mark Wade, Randy Clepper and Bob McMurray all arrived by late Monday evening and we immediately started working on developing some new material for an upcoming cd. Everything is taking us a littler longer than we expect it to, but I guess that's to be expected.

We're taking a short break right now, 10:30 pm Wednesday night, but in a moment we'll be going to work until we can't keep out eyes open.

The YMB and Denise

If you've read any of my archives from the Yanni Tour Journal you know how much I enjoy meeting fans and hearing their stories. One of the fans I met earlier this year was a lady named Denise, whose story involved her ongoing battle with brain cancer. As you probably know I lost a very close friend to brain cancer earlier this year, so Denise's situation feels all too familiar. She's had a turn for the worse in the past few days and the ongoing outpouring of hope and love for Denise over on the Yanni Message board is incredible. I just received the following email from Bonnie who is a moderator on the YMB:

Hi Dan,

I hope all is well with you.

I have a special request of you if I may.  Normally I would not make such a request but we need more help and I know that there are people who visit your diary who do not visit the Yanni Message Board.

One of our members, Denise (Yannique on the message board) is critically ill.  She has terminal brain cancer but found a program at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston that offered her hope.  On Friday she underwent brain surgery to start the treatment, but something went terribly wrong!  She developed malignant hyperthermia during surgery and fell into a coma.  By Saturday, the doctors said she was brain dead and suggested discontinuing life support.

Well the YMB had been praying for her since before the surgery started.  We were not going to let her go without a fight.  We prayed harder, we got more people involved, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc.  On Sunday morning, Denise woke from her coma and started pulling at the tubes.  It’s going to be a long road back and she still has many challenges to face.  She had to have a second surgery early this morning due to a blood clot in the area of the first surgery.

Would you mind putting something in your next diary post to point out the posts for Denise on the message board?  I would be ever so grateful to you.  We need as many people praying as there are on the planet.  Denise and her family have been through so much, already having lost a family member to cancer in May.  They need a miracle for Denise.

Thank you,
Bonnie
