Chattanooga Dulcimer Festival Hotels and Directions

If you're flying into Chattanooga and staying at a hotel downtown, you'll
probably want to rent a car. It's only 7.4 miles from the airport to
downtown, and only another 7 miles to the festival site. Or, you could take
a taxi and try carpooling with others. We'll have a bulletin board up so
people can leave messages back and forth. We'll help you any way we can.

Getting from the airport to downtown and Signal Mountain is easy. Leave the
airport terminal and take Hwy 153 South. It runs into Interstate 75, stay
to the right and go South again. In just a few miles I-75 splits off to the
left headed for Atlanta. Stay in the middle or to the right and now you're
on Interstate 24. You will go over a ridge then down into the Chattanooga
valley. Follow the signs that say Downtown, once again staying to the
right. You'll end up on Hwy 27 North. If you're staying at the Days Inn on
Carter Street take the MLK exit and the hotel is right there on your right.
If you're staying at one of the hotels on Chestnut St. take the next exit
(4th Street). At the light turn left. And there you are! The hotels on
Chestnut Street are within easy walking distance of the Tennessee Aquarium,
the Imax Theater, the Bijou Theatre, and the Discovery Children's Museum.
Plus, there are a lot of great restaurants close by. There's also a free
electric shuttle that will take you all around downtown, from the
Chattanooga Choo Choo to the TN Aquarium.

Now, from Downtown to the Chattanooga Dulcimer Festival is easy, too. Get
back on Hwy 27 North. You'll cross the Tennessee River, then take the
Signal Mountain exit. It puts you right on Signal Mtn, Blvd. Just follow
it up the mountain (only 4 miles).

As you near the top of the mountain you'll see the town's only traffic light. Turn left JUST BEFORE this light onto Maryland. Turn right on Kentucky and you'll see the MACC immediately on your left. It is an old rock school in a shady setting.

If you're coming from Nashville on Interstate 24 South, head towards
Downtown Chattanooga. Stay on Hwy 27 North and follow the above directions
from there.
